Making Payment Arrangements
The following is for those of who have experienced financial setbacks such as car trouble, medical issues and so forth. Even if you haven’t, feel free to read it if you like.
I am sitting in the customer waiting area of the gas and electric company, whose name shall remain nameless. I have had one obstacle after another in which once I get current on the bills and think that I am finally caught up, something else happens which sends me right back into the black hole, if you get my meaning.
We sometimes find ourselves (whether we put ourselves there or not) in situations when things don’t quite pan out, as in the case of unexpected major expense, such as a major illness or an auto repair. And the paycheck doesn’t stretch as far. What would you do?
In the case of the electric bill, arrangements were made … but that also means I had to be creative elsewhere. That meant revising the grocery budget(via going online and using the weekly ads), consolidating more errands to save gas as well as wear and tear (sometimes cheaper is not necessarily better), and I am currently looking for new auto insurance(good luck with that one, given my credit score, huh?)
I have cut back as much as I am able to do without losing my sanity, given the economy. I still have a place where I can still hang my hat, cook and eat a pretty decent meal, and still can go out once in a while without being couped up at home every night. Oh yes, I can rest my head after a long day as well.
Some days are harder than others, I won’t lie. I ask God for help with the rest.
Somehow, I make it through.
