The word would be "pesky". Why? The word is straight up irritating, especially when the weather meteorologists and the cooking people use it.
Examples:"…there is a pesky upper level low system that is the culprit behind the weather we are currently experiencing…" or "…if only these pesky little bubbles would dissolve…". YUCK!! Enough already!!
By the way, isn't the word pesky a derivative of the word " pest"? Because if that is the case, we do not need two of the same type of word ("pest" and "pesky") hanging around in our vocabulary and they mean pretty much the same thing; and "pest", in my opinion is a much better word, sound wise and definition wise… therefore, for those reasons…the word "pesky" needs to be retired…permanently.
