…And What Is My Answer?

In response to the Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Too soon?”

Can anything be funny, or are some things off limits?

I will answer the question like this:

Some things to me are extremely funny.  For example:

Watching classic cartoons like The Flintstones and Popeye are funny.

Watching Sports Bloopers are funny.

Also funny; watching a good comedian like DL Hughley or Bill Maher(these are a few of my favorites, I’m sure you have yours)

Watching reality shows where they make a complete fool of themselves.

The following are some of things, subject matter, etc. should be taken off the table completely that I do not considered as funny:

Natural Disasters(tornadoes, earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, you get the gist) and the impact it has on humans and non humans.

Animals and Human suffering. There is just too damn much of it.

Bullying.

Disrespecting someone because they are not you or fit in with your clique.  It’s your right to be with who you want to be with, but at the cost of dissing someone else?

And of course there are those “gray areas” that can go either way, such as religion, politics, race, in depending on the content, can be very funny… or not.

In closing, can anything be funny, or are some things limits?

The answer will depend on who you ask.
