I Believe In Magic Like I Believe in the Tooth Fairy

In response to The Daily Post’s  “Do You Believe In Magic?”

You have been transformed into a mystical being who has the ability to do magic. Describe your new abilities in detail. How will you use your new skills?

No I’m not going to be one of these individuals who talk about using my newfound magic for world peace… everybody the hell talks about that.

I want to use it for something different. I want to use it to better the overall conditions in the world… Nicer, if you want to say that.

You can’t help but when you turn on the television, read a newspaper, magazine, or tune in to social media hot button topics are all over the place; here are just a few… guns and gun control where there is no real solution that I can see; quality health care for all (for those of you who say we cannot afford and there is a better option out there; share it); mental illness where like guns people talk but offer no solutions other than there is no funding available.

Another hot topic button that is getting a lot of heat is climate change, where I am down with The Pope on that.

I am so sick of the state of this planet that we call earth, our home.
I am sick of all this disrepecting each other, lack of love and common courtesy for each other, constant pollution, nature eroding, needless loss of life for both humans and animals, irresponsible drilling for oil and natural gas, fracking, scarcity mentality (where I got to get mine before there is no more left)… and these weather extremes(cold, hot, rain in all forms)! I am so sick and tired of all this!

How sick and tired am I? Allow me to answer this question in two parts.

Regarding the weather, it is so screwed up that you want to tell all of the meteorologists that they’re fired.

And of the planet we call earth? Forgive me for the choice of words used here, I am so sick and tired of living in a world that is so f% $#&d up to the nth degree!

I am constantly hearing the same old same old …rain…heat index…stage 1 water restriction…rolling blackouts…
heat advisory…flood warning…freeze warning….food shortage.. shortage of coffee…vaccine shortage…I don’t care…this is the new normal; live it, embrace it, love it…there is an accident located at…Give yourself extra time..  I’m sorry, but we don’t have enough time for that….

STOP IT!!!! GET ME OFF THIS DAMN ROLLER COASTER!

Which brings me back to the question of being transformed into a mystical being who has the ability to do magic. How will I use my new skills?

First, I would need to put everyone and everything into a deep sleep, so as to go about the business of fixing this planet. How? By reworking the soil so that will full of nutrients for planting, and also working on the water supply. That way, everyone (animals too) will enough to eat, have clean water for drinking, bathing, and washing; plant trees in those areas that have been ravaged by fire at which time we would to pull some individuals out of their slumber to do that.

These individuals would then awaken the rest of the population and teach them how to do the things mentioned…and give those who want to be educated the opportunity to do so.

In short, I want them to learn not only to love and take care of the earth, but to love, respect, and to take care of each other.

We have to start somewhere, like the song says about peace on earth…it begins with us all.
